Mystical Nature

Last week, I had to take a short trip to a nearby village. Fog is not so common here where I live, so when I was up on the mountain and saw this bewildering image in front of me, I was stunned.

I couldn't help but stop the car and take a couple of photos. It felt like space and time collapsed and there was just me, Earth and the powerful presence of Nature.

In moments like this, everything appears solid, real and alive and at the same time on the verge of dissolution. It's out in the nature that the mind becomes still, like it was supposed to be.

How far have we gone?

And the cars
Lost in the drift
Are there
And the people that drive
Lost in the drift
Are there
And the cares i've
Lost in the drift
Are there
Theirs, ours,
Lost in the drift
Are..
Driven together
And driven
Apart

  1. Wonderful post! Great combination of images and words! We often have fog here in Northern Italy, it has its own fascination and magic, especially when -as you said- it's in nature... About a week ago I saw it in the mountains, at over 1000 mt, not sure if it was fog that had gone that high or low clouds... it was an incredible sight, exactly the sensations that you depicted! And I guess it must be quite amazing on a Greek island!

  2. If you like fog, I'll trade places with you next vacation ;) There's lots of hill country around here that generates awesome fog, particularly in spring.

  3. Anna: I've seen that fog - or even clouds, I'm not too sure either- in Northern Italy and it's bewitching indeed :)
Tori: Sure :) I'd trade the island for something different for a while!
